It is the role of the Custodian to follow daily, weekly and monthly cleaning schedules as for our facilities including, but not limited to, the classrooms, kitchen, office areas, bathrooms, storage areas and entrances. The Custodian follows the cleaning schedule when the children are not in the child care centers so no interference with their care occurs. The Custodian may also be responsible for performing additional duties not stipulated below. If so, these duties are specified as an addendum to this description. These additional duties may include general building and grounds maintenance, laundry, etc.Responsibilities:Ensure spaces are clean and prepared for the next day by completing the following:Clean buildings by using cleaning solutions to remove stains and clean surfaces.Empty waste containers and remove all trash to the designated area.Sweep and mop floors and vacuum carpetsClean restrooms, wash and sanitize toilets, sinks and restock disposables (e.g. soap)Secure facilities after operating hours by locking doors, closing windows and setting up the alarm and checking electrical appliance use to ensure that hazards are not created.May undertake occasional tasks such as shoveling snow from the sidewalk, lifting heavy items, moving furniture etc.Clean windows and mirrors, using soapy water or other cleaners, sponges, and squeegees.Dust furniture, shelving and vents.Identify and report possible repairsPerform other duties as assignedJob Requirements:The following requirements are those that are normally required for the performance of this position.
