Job Summary:

The Director of Clinical Informatics serves as a vital link between healthcare and technology, ensuring that clinical systems enhance client care, optimize workflows, and support data-driven decisions. This role involves strategic evaluation of current Electronic Health Records (EHRs) and emerging technologies to ensure organizational scalability and sustainability.

What are we looking for in a Clinical Informaticist?

The ideal Clinical Informaticist should:

  • Bridge the gap between healthcare and technology, ensuring that clinical systems improve client care, optimize workflows, and support data-driven decisions.
  • Be a collaborative leader with a strong understanding of both clinical operations and health IT systems.
  • Possess the strategic insight to evaluate current EHRs and emerging technologies for organizational scalability and sustainability.
  • Demonstrate analytical skills to assess workflows and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Be capable of managing change, guiding the adoption of new technologies, and ensuring staff proficiency in informatics tools.
  • The schedule for this role will be Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm.

Clinical Informaticist duties may include:

  • Integrating and implementing clinical informatics systems to enhance care delivery.
  • Collaborating with clinical teams, IT, and vendors to streamline workflows.
  • Analyzing workflows and identifying informatics-based improvement opportunities.
  • Overseeing system selection and implementation aligned with organizational goals.
  • Providing technical training and support for EHRs and other clinical tools.
  • Testing technologies, upgrades, and new solutions.
  • Monitoring performance of informatics systems and troubleshooting issues.
  • Leading change management and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Maintaining regulatory compliance and best practices.
  • Supervising Health Information Management (HIM) functions.
  • Managing staff, hiring, performance evaluations, and professional development.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in health informatics, nursing, healthcare administration, information technology, or related field and six years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Previous experience with healthcare informatics or related roles and a strong knowledge of clinical workflows, EHR systems and healthcare information technology.
